Welcome to the new Louisiana Roofing News blog from The Roof Shop! We're a local roofing company based in Denham Springs, and we're starting this blog to give homeowners and business owners in Livingston Parish and the Baton Rouge area clear, practical information about their roofs. Some of it can be confusing, especially when it involves storms, insurance, and state programs.

Who we are

The Roof Shop was founded by two experienced roofing professionals who have worked with leading roofing companies. That experience shaped how we do business: we put honesty, quality, and customer satisfaction ahead of sales pressure.

• Free roof inspections. We inspect your entire property and give you a full report of our findings.

• Storm damage assessments. After a storm, we'll inspect your roof and give you a clear written assessment of what we find.

• FORTIFIED roofing. We recently earned our FORTIFIED roofing certification, so we can build roofs to the FORTIFIED Roof standard from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety.

• Financing. Flexible financing options with fast, simple approvals and affordable monthly payments.

We proudly serve Denham Springs, Baton Rouge, Walker, Watson, Prairieville, Central, and the surrounding communities.

We plan to post about once a month. Here's what you can expect:

• Louisiana roofing news. Changes that affect homeowners in our area, explained in plain English and linked to the official sources.

• The FORTIFIED program and insurance discounts. Updates on the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program grant rounds and the FORTIFIED premium discounts insurers are required to offer.

• Storm prep. How to get your roof ready before storm season, and what to do after hail or high winds.

• Local regulations. Contractor licensing, permits, and other rules that matter when you're hiring a roofer in Louisiana.

When we share facts about state programs or laws, we'll link to where they come from, such as the Louisiana Department of Insurance or the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, so you can check them yourself.
